About me

Ben Terrett - 2015 profile picture

Hello, I’m a governor at UAL

I’m brand new. I have an interest in design and digital and I was in a Moodle training course poking around the digital tools you use when I thought I’d set up a blog.

For my day job I’m Director of Design at the Government Digital Service where I lead a multi-disciplinary design team working across government on GOV.UK. I joined the Cabinet Office in 2012 when GDS was set up to deliver the recommendations in Martha Lane Fox’s “Digital by Default” report. Prior to that I was Design Director at Wieden + Kennedy, the advertising agency.

I founded and sold Newspaper Club and I’m an advisor to the London Design Festival. I’ve won various industry awards including the Design Museum’s Design of the Year and a D&AD Black Pencil.

My other blog is Noisy Decent Graphics, I’m on TwitterFlickr and Linkedin.

You can read the GDS Design Principles and listen to an interview with me on Peter Day’s World of Business

You can email me ben dot terrett at gmail
