On Friday night I went to the Central Saint Martins MA Fashion Show at London Fashion Week. It was packed and I was joined b some of my fellow governors. It was fab. Here are some pictures and a short video.
That visit to Wimbledon means I’ve finally visited all 6 colleges. Here’s a picture from the first time I visited each one. CSM: I think this picture was taken just before coffee with Ed Venning. LCC: to hear Emily Bell give the Cudlipp Lecture. LCF: lots of governors met up for an update from the college. […]
David Crow gave me a tour of Wimbledon yesterday. It’s the first week for many students so there were lots of technical inductions going on. It was great to see the excitement of those first weeks. Took me back… Lots of students I meet ask, “what does a Governor do?”. It’s a good question that […]
Always best to take these things with a pinch of salt. Storing this here for my own reference really.
Last night I went to the Black Blossoms exhibition at the UAL Holborn site. It was organised by Bee Tajudeen who used to be the UAL Student Governor. The official blurb says, “The Black Blossoms Exhibition celebrates and highlights the voices of Black Women, a group which is often invisible, silenced and oppressed in society. Through […]
Last night I attended the launch of Fred Deakin’s report Discovering the Post-Digital Art School. It’s available here as a PDF. (Fred, it should be in html somewhere 🙂 ) I’ve written before about Fred’s Collabology project, it’s a great way to use digital in an art school. It points a way forward that is more interesting and […]
I haven’t blogged here for a while, which is a shame. Although I don’t think anyone reads it 🙂 Last Thursday night I managed to get to the LCF BA final show. Fantastic work and inspiring atmosphere as always. If you couldn’t make it the live stream looked good and the Instagram feed had good coverage. […]
This morning I spoke at Next Up 15 an event for UAL 3rd year students. Hello to any students reading this because of the event. The event was great because it was attended by people from all of 6 of the UAL colleges. More of that please. Some great speakers too, I shared a panel with Craig […]
A few weeks ago I spoke at the DeL 2015: Technology Culture Practice held at CSM. Before the conference I tweeted that my first slide would be “stop calling it e-learning”. That seemed to work. There’s a good write up here.
I went to the CSM graduation at the Royal Festival Hall this morning. As a governor you get to wear a gown, a funny hat and you sit on the stage behind the Vice Chancellor and Heads of College and people like that. You also get to clap all the graduands on and off the […]
